How to clear the search history
- 1 : Right click on the toolbar
- 2 : Choose the option 'Clear Search Terms' at the bottom of the list
How to add a new search engine
- 1 : Surf to the search engine you would like to add
In this example we add google.co.uk. Surf to this location and enter 'needlesearch'
where you would normally enter your search terms.
- 2 : Click on the Auto-Add button on the toolbar
You have to start the Auto-Adder by clicking on it. Once activated, the color changes from red to green and it starts blinking.
NeedleSearch is now ready to monitor the search.
- 3 : Enter a name for the search engine
NeedleSearch will prompt you to enter a name once the search engine has been captured succesfully. This name will be used in the drop down, you don't have
to worry about a name too much, since you can always change it later using the Editor.
- 4 : Succesfully added!
After entering a name, the search engine will show up in the drop down on your toolbar! You can use it immediately by entering some search terms in the
box next to it and press enter or the search button.
How to add a new search engine, using multiple field search
Multiple field search is handy for search engines that require you to enter information in
more than one field. I.e. phone directories where usually a name and city is required. In this example
we will add the phone and address directory: Anywho.com. After this you can search on surname and city
directly from the toolbar.
- 1 : Surf to the search engine you would like to add
In this example we add www.anywho.com. Surf to this location and enter 'needlesearch1' in the Last Name box and needlesearch2 in the
city box. If you would like to add a search engine that requires more fields, just keep on numbering them, i.e.: needlesearch3, needlesearch4, etc., etc.
We set the State box to NY.
- 2 : Click on the Auto-Add button on the toolbar

to worry about a name too much, since you can always change it later using the Editor.

After entering a name, the search engine will show up in the drop down on your toolbar! You can use it immediately by entering a last name of somebody you
want to look for and a city separated by a semicolon (;) and press Search or enter. If you want to, you can change this in a pipeline (|) in the options menu of the toolbar.
